Most of you people out there in "guitar land" are probably
already familiar with guitarist
CHRIS POLAND is one of those rare gifted guitarists who
combines awesome beyond all human comprehension technique
with feel, a killer unique tone that is all his own and who
draws from a vast pool of incredible musical influences and
inspiration to create a truly ORIGINAL TRADEMARK STYLE that
is all his own
He hit the scene back in the mid-80s and embellished
MEGADETH on the "Peace Sells" disc with his mean licks and
heavy unique riffage...most people consider that disc to be
the band's finest hour with Chris' musical involvement being
the contributing factor...
1990 found Chris going solo and releasing his instrumental
heavy guitar "opus" entitled "RETURN TO METALOPOLIS"...the
guitarist came into his own on this outstanding effort and
created a heavy guitar masterpiece that stands in a class
all its own...the album featured bone-crunching minor riff
heaviness combined with dynamic, subtle chord progressions
and Chris' trademark fluid licks and chops which were to
become his VOICE on the guitar. "R.T.M." was well-received
by the press and the worldwide heavy guitar
community...CHRIS POLAND puts his mark on the guitar hero
map with this album...
The next move would find Chris landing on another major
label in the form of the progressive heavy rock outfit
called DAMN THE MACHINE. The guitarist explored new musical
avenues of progressive riff heaviness with the D.T.M. disc
and his solos were nothing short of amazing...unfortunately
the band would be short lived and DAMN THE MACHINE ran its
course...
MUMBO'S BRAIN would be the next band project...intensely
dark, brooding, minor riffage featuring some of Chris' most
varied, unique and heavy playing to date. The band was
short lived but prolific in their output...they recorded a
ton of killer trax...Chris took his guitar to places he'd
never been with the MUMBO'S BRAIN project and the result was
dark, deep and drafty...almost hypnotic at times!
After MUMBO'S BRAIN met its untimely death, Chris formed a
short-lived band called NOTHING IF NOT and they recorded
an amazing obscure studio demo with a unique female vocalist
named CAROL McARTHUR...the overall vibe on the trax is laid
back, haunting and beautiful at the same time with a strong
melodic lyrical quality and feel. Chris' guitar playing on
the studio demo is almost surreal in its approach and
features some of his most melodic and beautiful playing to
date. He weaves intricate lines of "pure heavy guitar
beauty" throughout each track and the songs and SOLOS are so
well-constructed that they border on perfection!!!

song writing abilities and yet another musical side of the
amazing, gifted guitarist we know as Chris Poland.
THE "MIGHTY" OHM
The band as a whole gives the term "POWER TRIO" a whole new
meaning!!! The three "musical brothers" who make up OHM are
equally accomplished and impressive on their instruments and
work together as a whole to create some of the most "brain
damaging" grooves that know no boundaries. The perfect
platform for Chris to "dig deep" into his "FREEDOM JAZZ
DANCE" back pocket and "shine" on his guitar...

The band is currently gigging the L.A. music scene and busy
