Chris Poland is foremost known for being a member on the two first albums by Megadeth, but he has also released the solo-album Return To Metalopolis, - an album I listened to quite a lot when it was released in 1990 (but being just as up to date today). Ten years have passed and it's not really any surprise Chasing The Sun is less metal than the debut. Here Poland uses anything from Santana-sounding songs to Stevie Ray Vaughan to Bruford-type fusion. But if you've once been a meta-guitarist you have to shred some and there's some of that, too. The highlight of the platter is the last track, "Alexandria 99," which is a live-track by his new band Ohm, where they are playing around with a lick from the debut album.
