FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.. Where have these tracks been hiding !!!! Normally, whenever you hear an Artist or Band are releasing an album of what they call "Rare Tracks, Previously Unreleased, From The Vault or The Early Demos" you usually straight away think that these will be nothing more than leftovers that never made it onto earlier albums simply because they were not good enough and these end up being for the diehard fans only and, to be honest, I can only think of one other album of this nature that I like and that was Copperhead - Live & Lost. Well, has this one just kicked the mindset of these albums just being leftovers right up the ass !!!!!!! The feelings I got when I first played this was like deja vu when I first played the 2009 "Smokehouse Sessions" album !!! This album is nothing short of "SENSATIONAL". It has blown me away big time !!! Other than the two which are off the 2004 "Smokehouse Sessions" as well as "Jack Daniels Weekend" and "No Quarter" which I had heard on My Space {but shit sound there}, I had not heard any others of these before and they are simply jaw dropping stuff and I mean it !!! The covers of "Freedom", "I Can't Wait Much Longer", "Morning Dew" and "Too Tired" are simply sensational and the covers of Grand Funk's "I'm Your Captain" and Zep's "No Quarter" are out of this World !!! Now also, Mike's material, especially "The Mighty Titan", "Sabbeck" and "Crossing Jupiter" are simply just mind-blowing tracks that kick ass big time and "Good Lovin' Man" & "Sweet Young Thang" are gems as well !!!! I know Mike's got more material and I've heard some of it and, after hearing this, a "Rare Tracks II" will now have to be pencilled in for a down the track Grooveyard release!!! BBB is definitely keeping the Rock alive. To sum it all up, we have two more phenomenal releases from the mighty Blindside Blues Band that both Mike Onesko & The Grooveyard should be really proud of !!!!!!

To supply the demand, Grooveyard records has put together this 14-track compilation highlighting some of the best moments of the Blindside Blues Band from 2004-2008. Rotating between originals and cover tracks is a fantasy set list of what could be the ultimate BBB line up. A cover of the Hendrix masterpiece "Freedom" kicks the disc off as guitarist Mike Onesko embodies the spirit of the afro genius. Bill Gressock lends a hand as the two "light-it-up" with both guitars a blazing. Originals, "Good Lovin' Man", "Jack Daniels Weekend" and "Sabbeck" see the band in full flight as they power through a juggernaut of blue-rock, '70s-style. A funk tour de force "Sweet Young Thang" struts the prowess of bassist Muddy Dixon while "Crossing Jupiter" takes a psychedelic curve with amps at full volume. Deep cut late '60s-70s rock is well represented in the Frankie Miller / Robin Trower penned "I Can't Wait Much Longer" (from the essential 1973 Twice Removed from Yesterday) the massive Leadbelly tune "Black Betty", Grand Funk's "I'm Your Captain" and the glorious Zeppelin monster "No Quarter". Old school blues are explored in "Too Tired" and "You Don't Love Me” while the '60s folk classic "Morning Dew" gets it's spotlight at the hands of this talented three-piece. This disc is an excellent way to feed your head with a massive sampling of all that is the Blindside Blues Band.
