"El Diablo”, the sixth studio disc from INTERSTATE BLUES, features eight tracks of straight-ahead 70s style rock drenched in soulful, melodic vocals and screaming lead guitars. This bonafide heavy guitar monster was envisioned right from the start as a complete return to hard rock by California-bred guitarist/vocalist Jamie Purpora who says that "for every song that made it on this record there were five that didn't. I had to be completely satisfied with every guitar lick and every lyric." His attention to detail pays off with tight tracks and great production. Evolving through their five previous releases, Jamie Purpora along with powerhouse rhythm section Roger Brown (bass) and Jeremy Crowther (drums), returned to the bluesy roots of rock and roll, working their way in a natural progression toward the 70s rock they loved growing up, each release becoming more refined and more personal. The result of all this blues roots exploration, this axe-rippin' 70s monster is "dedicated to all who have fallen in love or lust with the wrong person", venting their angst in riff-laden guitar attacks, powerful vocals and all-around power trio heaviness. Not a 70s tribute, but an original, powerful release from a group of talented musicians finding a very natural voice in quintessential 70s rock.
